SEASON NINE SPOILERS

The Office US creator, Greg Daniels,  sat down at the Television Critics Association Panel today to discuss what viewers can and can't expect from The Office's final episodes.

!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!

Round up:

-Steve Carell will not be returning as Michael Scott.

-Kelly and Ryan (Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, respectively) are likely to return for the finale.

-In episode 15 (untitled as yet, likely to air 02/14/13) someone will be fired.  Daniels did not say whether this would be a long running cast member or someone new.

-Beginning with episode 12 "Customer Loyalty" (likely to air 01/24/13) we will see what Daniels calls "The beginning of the end" in which the folks behind the documentary premise of the show will start to be exposed.

-The last episode, yet to be finalized, will be two parts and one hour long, making the final episode count down to exactly 200 half hour episodes.

-Daniels gave no indication as to how the show might end, but mentioned his favorite series finale was Newhart's, in which the title character wakes up having dreamt the entire series.

-Ken Kwapis, who directed the pilot, will also direct the finale.

-On whether all story lines would be wrapped up in the final episode, Daniels had this to say to viewers:

"If you look at how many characters there are here, [...] I don't think we're planning on packing everything into the last episode. I would encourage people, if you are waiting for the end of "The Office" to re-tune in, I would start doing it right away,"
